We are proud to announce 2018-2019 as the inaugural year at Carr Intermediate School in Santa Ana, California.
Our mission is to create a program with a professional environment where kids and teenagers can have access to top level coaches, trainings, facilities, programs, philosophies, etc. regardless of their socio-economic status.
La Academia is a non-profit, after school program, that aims to create a clear path to college for our scholar-athletes using soccer as a vehicle. Through the game of soccer, we can teach our kids and teenagers the important life skills that the game teaches us, such as friendship, loyalty, honesty, humbleness, failure, success, stress, amongst other things.
We believe it is possible to become a great player and a great person at the same time.
"CONNECTING SOCIAL MOBILITY, EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT, AND EQUAL ACCESS TO THE WORLD OF SOCCER IN THE U.S."
Our players train after school, 3x a week, from the beginning of the academic year (August/September) to the end of the school year (June). Games, scrimmages, university events, and community service land on the weekends with some field trips during school hours throughout the year.
*La Academia facilitates camps/clinics in the summer that are open to everyone.
La Academia works directly with the participating school to provide a tutoring program designed to help our scholar-athletes manage the workload of school and soccer successfully.
Currently, our players attend the Engage 360 tutoring program, 5x a week, throughout the entire school year.
PLAYERS participate in custom designed workshops, 2x a month, designed to challenge the scholar-athlete to think critically and problem-solve in soccer, academics, and their social life.
PARENTS also participate in custom designed workshops, 1x a month, designed to equip our parents with the right tools to better support their kids in the journey of a scholar-athlete.
For us, seeing is believing which is why we have partnered with numerous universities/colleges to host our players for games, trainings, tours, and meet-and-greet events.
Some universities/colleges also visit our kids at our own facilities for community workshops led by current college soccer players and coaches.
At La Academia, we believe in giving back to our community and paying it forward which is why we partnered with various organizations and schools to get our players involved in the progress of their communities.
We have adapted a "tribe/village" concept where everyone involved in La Academia plays a part in the growth of the program.
We love inspiring the youth in our communities with our personal experiences. Per request, we are now offering workshops to schools and organizations all over the United States.
